In 2009, R. Siefring introduced an homotopically invariant intersection number of punctured pseudoholomorphic curves by adding an additional asymptotic contribution to the usual intersection number. In this talk, we will begin by discussing the construction and few basic properties of this asymptotic contribution. Following this, we will discuss a vanishing theorem stating that this asymptotic contribution vanishes for generic pair of curves in the moduli space defined using generic almost complex structure.
